Madison Elementary District is Hiring a Grants Coordinator Near Phoenix, AZ

  1. Master’s/Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent training and experience in a related field
  2. Two (2) years of experience in grant or proposal writing, preferred
  3. School-related experience with an increasing level of responsibility, preferred
  4. Must possess a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

JOB GOAL:

The position of the Grant Coordinator builds new and current grant and award opportunities including, the identification of potential new funding sources, development of funding resources for existing and proposed programs and/or services, writing grants, integrated action plans, developing budgets, collaborating on grant and funding applications with various District departments/schools, community organizations, and processing, monitoring and coordinating required report evaluations on existing grants. The position of the Grants Coordinator will provide information to others, and be tasked with implementing and maintaining services within established guidelines and standards. The position of Grant Coordinator assists in developing policy and procedural changes. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

  1. Coordinates and creates efforts of business services, academic services, and school site grant processes (e.g., writing, evaluations, budget, finance, reports, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring compliance with the district and funder guidelines.
  2. Coordinates efforts of educational services and school sites in the LIAP and SIAP implementation process.
  3. Identifies and writes proposals for new and existing grants and improvement awards that could assist schools
  4. Collaborates with accounting and finance team representatives to maintain the fidelity of fiscal oversight of assigned federal, state, and other private and improvement awards.
  5. Monitors the financial management of grants (e.g., budget preparation, budget adjustments, expenditures, etc.) for the purpose of complying with all program and funding guidelines of awarding organizations
  6. Works with the program director to advise principals on issues related to grants and awards.
  7. Collaborates with internal and external personnel (e.g., district administrators, principals, teachers, auditors, public agencies, community members, etc.) for the purpose of implementing and/or maintaining services and programs.
  8. Prepares a wide variety of materials (e.g., grants, Local Education Agency Improvement Action Plan (IAP), ESSA plan, grant budgets, funding requests, reports, analyses, recommendations, procedures, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and issues, meeting compliance requirements, providing audit references, making presentations, and/or providing supporting materials for requested actions.
  9. Researches topics required to manage assignments (e.g., relevant policies, new federal and state statutes, staffing requirements, financial resources, education and school finance law, etc.) for the purpose of developing new programs/services, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, securing general information and/or responding to requests.
  10. Oversees the planning, implementation, evaluation, and on-going monitoring of grants, and school improvement action plans within established time frames; coordinates departmental services with and in compliance with related requirements.
  11. Participates in meetings, workshops, and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
  12. Collaborates with a variety of parties (e.g., district personnel, community organizations, etc.) for the purpose of securing funding to maintain and enhance services and/or programs.
  13. Coordinates and oversees regulatory submissions and reporting activities; tracks all issues presented by regulators up to and including resolution.
  14. Presents grant workshops and training for the purpose of increasing district staff skills in obtaining funds.
  15. Identifies and assesses areas of compliance risk for the district.
  16. Attends and participates in administrative meetings as requested.
  17. Attends and participates in community meetings as needed.
  18. Performs such other tasks as may be assigned.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents in English as well as the ability to write routine correspondence in English. Ability to speak effectively in English before groups of customers or employees.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations / issues. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and verbal form.

EVALUATION:

Performance will be evaluated by the Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction.

SUPERVISION:

This position reports to the Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction and is expected to work extensively with the staff in all district departments.

COMPENSATION:

Classified Exempt Starting Salary: Exempt 4 $73,901-$96,009(DOE)
